Abstract: The article provides a broad overview of the development of relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and political power, in the light of the concept of "symphony of powers", which provides the temporal superiority of the throne and the spiritual superiority of the altar. Understood not as a static model, but in its many variations, which in which the relationship between political power and spiritual authority is reversed, the symphony of power is intertwined with the rediscovery of the Russian soul and find a new form in Putin's political strategy.
