Su alcuni motivi in Hugo von Hofmannsthal

Abstract: This paper discusses the crisis of language and its foundations, in the context of Mitteleuropean culture, as presented in some works of Hugo von Hofmannsthal. The central figure is Lord Chandos, through whom Hofmannsthal expresses his tragic and conflictual conception of modernity, in dialectic with traditional values.
